S.W.I.S.

This Government initiative has been placing Social Workers in low-decile schools over the last few years. Our Centre employs the SWIS staff who work with families from the following Mangere schools:

• Jean Batten Primary School


• Mountain View Primary


• Mangere Central School


• Te Kura Kaupapa Rohe O Mangere


• Favona Road School


• Sir Douglas Bader Intermediate

Our team consists of Carole Tana-Tepania (Senior SW), June Matthews-Minarapa, Makere Rangihuna-Togiamua. They are available in each of their schools 2 days a week, and their job is to be available to staff and students who may have concerns about children's wellbeing. They also provide programmes to develop resiliency and skills in our young people. They can be contacted via the schools or via our Centre.
