This team of three (Kula Alapaki ,Senior SW, Phillina Kauri-Tumai, and Alfred Uluheua) is available to people who need support with making a positive plan for change, which often involves advocacy with Government and other agencies. This team also has a close relationship with Southern Cross Campus, provide one full-time equivalent Social Worker as appropriate to gender and cultural needs. We also work on behalf of families who have children at Mangere East School as our facility is built on the school's land.
You are welcome to phone for an appointment to discuss the kinds of support we have available, or just drop in at the Centre - we have a brochure on our service that you are welcome to pick up. Most of our work with people is done one-on-one, sometimes at home, but preferably at our offices. Support is normally available during office hours only.
We offer:
Government Agency advocacy: WINZ, Housing NZ, Court support, Police, CYFS
Household management, parenting support
Relationship skills, negotiation and voluntary anger management
Life skills
We don't provide:
Court-ordered anger management
Drug and Alcohol Counselling
