their enjoyment of life

in a caring and just society.
Target Statement
The 'Mangere East Family Service Centre' is for
children, young people, and their families who require support but are unable to get it through other services and who live in Mangere.
Belief Statement
The 'Mangere East Family Service Centre' believes that:-
The needs of the children and their family provide the purpose and foundation of any plans and programmes; and that any plans and programmes must be developed between the Centre and the family;
the culture of the child and family, including their own language, provides the best environment for the meeting of their needs;
The Centre environment must be safe and accessible to the families who use it; even before providing the space for the core services:
the Centre and its services should not duplicate or threaten services already available to the children and their families;
The Centre will provide a high quality, integrated services to the children and their families, encouraging them to freely participate in the life of the Centre, the schools, and the community; Where able it will encourage and support other groups to achieve their goals.
The Centre must support the child and their family participate fully in the community, and must address both personal and structural issues to bring about a full enjoyment of life for the individual and the community.
The Centre should offer as much opportunity for employment to local people, and groups, as possible, and include opportunities for training.
The Centre believes that people are supported best in their local community using natural networks and associations
